Moving anywhere is a pain in the ass but moving cross-country has its own special challenges. When we live in a home and accumulate all the “stuff” we don’t realize how much we have until it is time for it to be moved.
We chose the ABF U-Pack service to get the bulk of our belongings to Montana. This is not the cheapest option but it was about half of what full-service movers would have charged us. The concept is simple – they drop off a 27′ trailer, you load it over three business days, then they pick it up and drive it to the destination location. This is our second trailer – the first was almost two years ago. I’m happy to say that it is the last one too. This was the last of our big/heavy items. The last little remaining items will either fit in the last vehicles that have to go or it will not be going at all. I’m very excited that the last phase of moving is underway and will be over very soon. And I am super thankful that we will have help unloading on the other end!
